This is typical Grisham: speedy, gripping, very good at conveying the complexities of the law in a digestible way - Sunday Express.

5 classiques de la Littérature française qui ont marqué mon enfance

No one with any interest in justice could resist this story, which Grisham has structured with all his familiar skill. The good characters are sympathetic, the wicked are truly revolting and the rage is wholly understandable - Literary Review.

When Special Agent Riley Paige finally decides to take a well-needed rest from the FBI, a request for help comes from the most unlikely source: her own daughter. Worse, she is convinced that the suicide was staged, and that her sister was murdered at the hands of a serial killer. Riley reluctantly looks into the case, only to discover that two other freshman girls at Georgetown recently killed themselves in the same grotesque way—by hanging. As she realizes foul play may be afoot, she brings in the FBI.

In time she discovers that this case is far more twisted than it seems—and that she just may be up against the most psychotic killer of her career. When prostitutes turn up dead in Phoenix, not much attention is paid. But when a pattern of disturbing murders is discovered, the local police soon realize a serial killer is on a rampage and they are in way over their heads.

Given the unique nature of the crimes, the FBI, called in, knows they will need their most brilliant mind to crack the case: Special Agent Riley Paige. Riley, recovering from her last case and trying to pick up the pieces of her life, is at first reluctant. But when she learns of the grievous nature of the crimes and realizes the killer will soon strike again, she is compelled. She begins her hunt for the elusive killer and her obsessive nature takes her too far—perhaps too far, this time, to pull herself back from the brink.

She learns that, even amongst these women, there are glimpses of hope, hope being robbed by a violent psychopath. But what she discovers leads her to a twist that is too shocking for even her to imagine. A dark psychological thriller with heart-pounding suspense, ONCE CRAVED is book 3 in a riveting new series—with a beloved new character—that will leave you turning pages late into the night.

Women are turning up dead while camping in a remote national park in West Virginia. Yet the park is vast, and no connection can be found between them.

At the same time, Mackenzie receives a call from Nebraska urging her to come home. The case no longer cold, Mackenzie desperately needs to help solve it. This killer is more diabolical—and smarter—than Mackenzie could have imagined. As she goes down a road she fears to travel—deep into her own psyche—she finds a double twist waiting for her that even she could not expect.

Women are going missing in rural Iowa, and a pattern is emerging. It is feared a serial killer is on a rampage, his pace increasing. Given her Midwestern roots, Mackenzie is chosen as the perfect fit. But Mackenzie is reluctant to return to the Midwest, this time to a starkly rural setting that reminds her too much of her upbringing, of her own ghosts in her closet. In the deadly game of cat-and-mouse, she finally realizes the psychosis of the killer she is up against, and comes to realize that the land of her upbringing is holding even darker and more twisted horrors than she could imagine.

What a cracker of a book I was absolutely gripped Still reeling from her own loss, Robyn vows she will find the killer — no matter what. But then a local doctor — a popular woman with a young family of her own — is found dead outside her surgery. There are similarities between her and the first body and Robyn must take another look at the picture-postcard town, where no one has any enemies. Can Robyn untangle the hidden web of secrets, lies, and smouldering grudges, at the heart of this close-knit community, before another life is lost?

An absolutely unputdownable thriller that will keep you reading into the night. It gets all the stars from me! This was real edge-of-your-seat stuff that kept me turning pages. Yes, that was my reaction! Raised the hairs on the back of my neck. Oh my!

Le neuvième jour

I have discovered a new favorite author! I not only recommend this book, but the entire series as well. Oh do I ever hope we will be seeing more of Robyn. Double Wow What a book! I am loving it I love this series and this didn't disappoint it was beautifully written, dark, emotional and full of twists I didn't see coming. Maybe that had been the problem all along: Maria Weston had wanted to be friends with me, but I let her down. She's been hovering at the edge of my consciousness for all of my adult life, although I've been good at keeping her out, just a blurred shadow in the corner of my eye, almost but not quite out of sight.

This is an obvious choice if you enjoyed The Girl on the TrainIndependent. No one knows death like Tea. A bone witch who can resurrect the dead, she has the power to take life And she is done with her self-imposed exile. Her heart is set on vengeance, and she now possesses all she needs to command the mighty daeva. With the help of these terrifying beasts, she can finally enact revenge against the royals who wronged her—and took the life of her one true love.

But there are those who plot against her, those who would use Tea's dark power for their own nefarious ends. Because you can't kill someone who can never die In the Eight Kingdoms, none have greater strength or influence than the asha, who hold elemental magic. But only a bone witch has the power to raise the dead. Tea has used this dark magic to breathe life into those she has loved and lost But Tea's quest to conjure a shadowglass, to achieve immortality for the one person she loves most in the world, threatens to consume her.

Tea's heartsglass only grows darker with each new betrayal. Her work with the monstrous azi, her thirst for retribution, her desire to unmask the Faceless—they all feed the darkrot that is gradually consuming her heartsglass. She is haunted by blackouts and strange visions, and when she wakes with blood on her hands, Tea must answer to a power greater than the elder asha or even her conscience. Tea's life—and the fate of the kingdoms—hangs in the balance. Exceptionally written from beginning to end.

Marie-Christine Alix Garneau de l’Isle-Adam

In the captivating start to a new, darkly lyrical fantasy series for readers of Leigh Bardugo and Sabaa Tahir, Tea can raise the dead, but resurrection comes at a price Let me be clear: I never intended to raise my brother from his grave, though he may claim otherwise. If there's anything I've learned from him in the years since, it's that the dead hide truths as well as the living. When Tea accidentally resurrects her brother from the dead, she learns she is different from the other witches in her family. Her gift for necromancy means that she's a bone witch, a title that makes her feared and ostracized by her community.

But Tea finds solace and guidance with an older, wiser bone witch, who takes Tea and her brother to another land for training. In her new home, Tea puts all her energy into becoming an asha—one who can wield elemental magic. But dark forces are approaching quickly, and in the face of danger, Tea will have to overcome her obstacles Just the quick publication of Book Two, Arrival.
